Paul Jowett – Levisham Moors.

As well as running a pest control business, Paul has some interesting and unusual hobbies. He has been hunting with hawks since he was 14 years old. He is part of a conservation group that cares for the moorland of Levisham, North Yorkshire.

Paul entertained us with fascinating stories of how his group have won awards for their work regenerating the important heather moorland. He described how he hunts with his hawks. His dogs help him to make a count of the red grouse that now breed successfully on the moor.

Friends of the Rydings gave a donation to Overgate Hospice as requested by Paul.
